A very young Rahabim Ayden in the Drowned Abbey before it was submerged.
This was originally intended to illustrate a Legacy of Kain fanfic but the story fell by the wayside.
It is the first painting I ever attempted in Photoshop and it has literally taken me years to complete having been abandoned several times when the challenge just seemed too much.
Anyway, here is my OC character Ayden with a new sword courtesty of Rahab and the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Well, this was well worth the weight. I've just been sitting here for 5 minutes staring at those trousers. You did an amazing job on them - you can tell that each stroke has been lovingly painted
I've always marvelled at the textures on the background of this, and they fit in so well with the colours you've picked for Ayden. Really smooth
I also love the greenish tinge on the hair, and the sword - well, you know I've loved that since I first read about it!
I'm really really glad you posted this. Now all that remains is for someone to cheer that poor boy up.
That sword was one of the things I nearly gave up over! Won't tell you how many attempts it took to get it right.
Looking back, I think I bit off a bit more than I could chew with this and it probably wasn't the best way of teaching myself Photoshop. If I'd had any sense at all, I'd just gone out and bought a book! But then I wouldn't have had all that fun!
I'm really glad you like him.
Yeah, and what a wait it was! The first file is dated March 2005! So glad you like him, I don't think I'd ever have finished him if it wasn't for you.
The 'shiny trousers of doom' nearly drove me to distraction, but I think they came out ok. The metal was the worst!
And thank you for noticing the background I only cheated on the bricks above the arches, everything else I painted! I remember those granite arches took me a week. That means I'm completely mad doesn't it?
As to cheering him up, chuck him a couple of virgins first to take the edge off his appetite and make sure you're armed!
Appreciate the thoughtful comment.
I wasn't too sure about the bricks to be honest, Think I should put something else in there?
When I was working on the background, I hadn't got the hang of Photoshop at all. I think that shows. I also had a computer with very little memory which forced me to merge layers before I was ready. That caused a lot of headaches later on, when I spotted the gaps and wobbles.
And he did have a shadow. I must have accidentally deleted it! Thanks for noticing.
I'm so pleased to see him finished. He's beautiful. Such columns, and such a sword. Is it wrong to be fascinated in an unholy fashion with the creases in his trousers?
Be warned: James wants the sword.

Looks good! Obviously a lot of time and patience for this piece.
Just give him a shadow and you're golden.

And those trousers are a real work of art! They look shiny, reflective and above all leathery
