Here we go again
My character Sacha, looking more as he should do (but no, I'm still not 100% happy with him).
For those of you who have not had the pleasure of making his acquaintance, Sacha is a vampire, originally a Romani of Eastern European descent.
I cropped the pic because his face and hands are where nearly all the work went in and I was also getting very tired of the negative comments the original was receiving (mainly from members of my family!)
For those of you who wish to view the vamp, the whole vamp, and nothing but the vamp, (apart from the hat and the waistcoat of course ) he can be found here: [link]
The title is simply the name of the album I was listening to when I finished him, it seemed fitting.
Painted entirely in Photoshop 6, over many months and several tantrums!
Full-view please.
Oh, now this is so...rich. The colours are so vibrant and the textures so strokable! Especially the edge of the cushion behind him and his hair, his lovely hair. For some reason I've zoned in on two things: the brilliance of his eyes and the fluffy subtlety of the little feather in the hat. (I still admire you for the hat: hats are eeeeevil to draw)
-- "I'm nobody. Nobody special. Not like you."
"Everybody is special. Everybody, everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody."
You like him? I figured it was time I stopped going crazy over this and moved on And yes, hats are evil and that little feather took me a good two hours to paint and I can't for the life of me remember how I did it, now! Old age is a terrible thing...
his beauty made me think of a sexy woman. Then I realized how things really are.I really don't know how you drew it but i imagine it's harder than traditional art and most important:it's damn cool how it goes!and the coat and the skin so realistic!God!I don't wanna know how high I'd be if that vampire would be in my bed oh and the hat with my so dear colors
This picture is so well done and has great depth to it. The textiles are brilliantly done and have a very real quality - done by someone who knows how fabric moves, obviously! I especially love the trim on the red cushion The skin tone is great and muchly improved on the first 'draft', his skin and eyes have a synthesis that gives him a touch of realism, they both just look 'right'. Cudos on the hat, headger is a pig to draw and you pull this off marvellously and I even like the colour, and finally, the light reflecting off the pillars in the background is brilliantly done and hints of a world outside the picture.
This is me trying for an intelligent comment...hope it works! This is great.
P.S. This is allowed to go to your head, not Sacha's

Thanks. Tis a wonderful comment! Those trims were fun to do! I was playing around with the novelty fluffy brushes in Adobe when I made them, but please, don't ask me exactly what I did, cos I don't think I could repeat it. As to him, yeah, much better than he was. I was particularly pleased with the colouring of his eyes. That came out nice I think.
Heh, I think all my male characters tend to look androgynous. It's not deliberate, but I guess that's just part of my style, at least at the moment This character is really beautiful, quite the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, which is why I got so frustrated with my earlier efforts at depicting him, I knew how short I had fallen from what I was trying to achieve. I'm so glad you like the way he has turned out now. It's good that other people find him sexy, too
As to digital art being harder than traditional, I don't think that is true. There is no 'undo' button in traditional media!
And I would love to see a pic of that ex-boyfriend!
Yes, the eyes are really well done. Yay for fluffy brushes!

He is so very pretty, pretty vampire. ^^ I love the colours you used here they're just so rich and luxurious... I almost want to pet the picture beacuse of the sheer... richness, it looks like velvet they way you've done the textures here. I also love the patterns on the cushion as well for some reason... did you draw them yourself or did you cheat and use a pattern in your software
All in all, I'm glad you decided to put this up
